Re: Table Alignment, Using Dual Dial Indicators
That would be a way to align the accessory table after the main table is aligned. ;) What I meant was if you leaned/put pressure on the table while taking the reading, you could twist the table out of alignment with the quill - locking the main the the extension would lessen any "twist"fa...

Re: Table Alignment, Using Dual Dial Indicators
I just re-wathched the Sawdust Session on that, and what Nick did was loosen the extension table bolts, then adjust them to match the table rods (i.e. so the table rods slide smoothly between the main and extension). I guess if the guides are aligned properly, and the table is flat, this should work.

Re: My Favorite and Most Used Push Stick
Thanks ecom1 for posting the youtube link. That looks like a great push stick from Mr. Bates. I sketched one out which will attach, just haven't made it yet, but soon. On smaller stuff, I was having problems with the rippings kicking up on the back side of blade using the standard push stick. This ...

Re: small shop dust collection
As a mater of clarification is the noise issue with you in the shop or with the household above your shop? BTW there are shop-vacs that are moderately priced that are quieter then others. My larger one is quieter than my smaller one, just have to look for what is important to you and if noise level...

small shop dust collection
Hi guys, I know this has probably been around the block a few times, but I'll bring it up again. I'm trying to improve dust collection for a small shop (12x14). The shop is a room in the basement of my home with no windows or outside access, so "cleaning" the air is important. I currently ...

Re: Today in the shop (rounding the corner)
[quote] I use it for all Shopsmith operations. I think it works every bit as well as the Shopsmith dust collector that I replaced with it. I like the convenience of the disposable bag and it comes on automatically when I turn the machine on. You do need a dedicated 20 amp circuit to run both and tha...

Re: Table Alignment, Using Dual Dial Indicators
Is the main table locked to the accessory table when you make these tests? I remember seeing a Sawdust Session showing a little play in the main table that could be limited by locking it to the extension - I ask because I could see myself leaning against the machine while making the reading and poss...

Re: Today in the shop (rounding the corner)
Question for you Mark: I see you have a Festool hooked up for dust collection on the sander - do you use if for other Shopsmith SPTs as well, or just for sanding operations? If so, how would you rate it for the other tasks?
