Re: SS Jointer?

If your needs are so low it might be worth using other ways to do the job. A hand plane can do a lot of work and still be fit in a drawer for example. If you are into just edge jointing that can be done on a router table or even a table saw with jig. Another option is to get a something like this: ...

Re: Lining Jewelry boxes and trays

Well, don't think I'm doing anything special. I use a $.69 synthetic brush and slop on the glue rather liberally, then use the mini-flocker tube to poof the threads on. Have never done more than one coat so not sure how to do that. If I get some time, I'll take pictures of some drawers I've done. Ma...

SS Jointer?

So, I'm thinking it would be nice to have a jointer as I have some projects coming up where it would be nice to have matching edges as best as possible. The question is this: Considering I won't use it a lot and the cost of the SS Jointer vs. the cost of a small bench jointer. Which is the better pu...

Re: Lining Jewelry boxes and trays

I've recently started using the DonJer product for flocking the insides of small drawers and boxes and I love it! Here's a link: http://www.woodcraft.com/search2/search.aspx?query=flocking Couple of tips based on my experience, YMMV: 1. Use a heavy coat of the adhesive. 2. Wear a dust mask or filter...

Re: Trend air pro

I've had one of the original Trend headgears and it's been a great buy! I solved the battery problem by going to Radio Shack and grabbing a 3 AA cell holder, some AA NiCads, a plug that fit my mask and a charger. Much cheaper than the Trend extra batteries and I always have a fresh pack on hand.

Or just buy a Mac and solve the problem. :D I gave up on Windows years ago when OS 10 came out. Never going back! Essentially it's Linux anyway so easier to understand.

Re: PowerPro Woes...

Having trouble lifting the PowerPro down or up to the way tubes was a problem for me. Also fitting the headstock into the padded box for shipping. I made a simple cradle sling - It helped immensely!!! No need to lift on the spindle/ PowerPro Sling.jpg This grip isn't so much the issue although I do...

Re: PowerPro Woes...

UPDATE! :) Returned Jim McCann's call this morning. He seems to be the master Headstock engineer. Great guy, very concerned about customer satisfaction, gave me a wonderful education on how that part of the headstock works and the changes from the old to the new set up. New bearings, etc. due to muc...

Re: PowerPro Woes...

You can make a short video and put it in YouTube or Facebook May be SS can also see it there and determine if it's normal Good luck Thought about that but how do I give you the "feel" of the vibration? Guess I could hook a bobblehead to it and then compare the bobble with the old headstoc...

Re: 510 Table Height Adjustment not holding securely

this generally happens to me right after a good waxing of the way tubes! I have a 2x4 that I use for support that clears that problem right up.

It also sometimes happens with dull bits or drilling at the wrong speed.
