Re: Speed control stuck

Just to finish this thread off, I meant to come back and lost track.

I did end up buying a new quadrant and pulley+bearing. After putting it all back together and lubing it all up it is running great again. I do have to correct the speed dial as I think I indexed it wrong or something because the ...

Re: Speed control stuck

Bill/JPG, thanks for the input.

On a good note, I cleaned the motor shaft, filed the vanes a bit and generally fiddled. For whatever reason it seems to fit properly now. There is still very little play on the keys (good) so I am not really sure why it was sticking so bad and why it looked so ...

Working it a bit then rotating ...

Re: Speed control stuck

The quadrant assembly looks damaged and there is no clip on the control sheave. That all looks damaged, probably busted when the bottom sheaves stuck and someone wrenched on the speed control.

I don't think the floating sheave got damaged. It didn't take much force to pull but I will check as ...

Speed control stuck

I have a mark 5 that I use quite a bit and I recently purchased another one at a yard sale for my father-in-law. We got it for a song with a bunch of attachments and then I realized after working with it that the speed control is all messed up.

After breaking it open I think I know what is wrong ...
