Thanks for advise. I was getting a bit frustrated and about ready for the hammer. Did get it working after waxing and a whole lot of wiggling.

Purchased a used Shopsmith Mark V, 1981 and when I got it home found that the Saw Table would not attach so it can move up or down. Everything seems to be working properly but gears will not mesh for movement.

Any ideas as to what problem might be? Table was in place and worked when I purchased but ...
