Re: New Generation 2 PowerPro Headstock Touchscreen
Hello all - Bandsaw and Jointer on shorty with PowerPro 2 Headstock? I have a used SS Mark V and I was thinking about getting the shorty kit and PowerPro 2 Headstock to use with my Band Saw and Jointer. Is it true that the PowerPro 2 will run the right side PTO in reverse? Which would allow the join...

Re: Jointer height to match power coupler - shims?
Once again the ShopSmith community saves the day!
Closer inspection found set screws and the posts are indeed eccentric, but not adjusted - yet.
The ShopSmith continues to amaze me, so ‘refined’, almost as if they have been making and improving the tool for decades.

Re: Jointer height to match power coupler - shims?
Thanks for the replies, without taking the Jointer out, the tubes don't look like eccentrics, just straight tubes. My bandsaw has eccentric tubes and it fits very well. Will get a closer look in the daylight. I did notice I have a lathe tailstock insert with set screw collars on the tubes, maybe I'l...

Jointer height to match power coupler - shims?
Searched but could not find answer to my question: What is the recommended way to match jointer height to mate with power coupler? When using Jointer, the height needs to be about 1/2" higher to line up the power coupler, trying to hold it up and tighten the SPT handle is not best solution. I u...

Re: Any interest in vcarve cnc software?
Thanks for that information, the Velox entry level 24W-ACE CNC Router starts at $4,600. And at 175 pounds shipping to Hawaii would be expensive, for example - Shopsmith quoted me $1,700 to ship a Mark 7. The local Woodcraft doesn't carry the CNC Piranha FX. Rockler has the CNC Piranha FX, and would ...

Re: Any interest in vcarve cnc software?
I've been reading about the X-Carve and Carvey CNC tools on Inventables. They offer VCarve as an option to their own Easel software. The X-Carve product is sold as a kit, and the Carvey is a ready to use CNC machine in an enclosure. Anyone else read about these machines and have an opinion? I am ser...

Re: Strange conversation with SS
Yes the Power Pro is a factor and is really a better solution for slowing down lathe operations. It's also on back order, and speaking for myself - it's not a good value at 50% of the price of a complete new Mark VII SS.
I suspect you're right about the potential for it being discontinued.
