Re: Mark VII speed control
Richard's 3d file for both the cam and the racks are available in the file section of the shopsmith Facebook owners group page. I recommend you print it, or have it printed, in either nylon or abs.

Re: 1960's Mark VII Owners Manual is Complete
I don't use the vacuum on mine. It's been disabled. Guessing it might even give back a little HP to the motor by not having to move the fan blades.
Hopefully someone else can answer your questions on fitting size and bag replacement options.

Re: MVII motor belt length
Oh, absolutely it makes a good shield. It's just a lot more work to install. For someone who doesn't have one installed I'd recommend just making a shield to protect the gear rack from the small amount of fluttering the belt does. You can get the belt off of Amazon for about $4. D&D PowerDrive A...

Re: MVII motor belt length
Although, an idler pulley isn't necessary when using the correct sized belt. A simple gear rack shield is all that's needed now.

Re: Mark VII speed control
Yes, you can 3d printer both the cam and the gear rack. There's probably someone local to you who can print them for you. Nylon or ABS are probably what you'll want them to use as the printing material. If you need the cam I know Richard still has some 3d printed ones for sale at a good price, so I ...

Free Belt Sander Driver Sleeve
Shopsmith sent me this part by mistake, but I don't even have their belt sander. They said they didn't want it back because the cost of shipping the part was more than the part was worth. I asked if it was ok to put on here and they said that was fine with them. So, if someone has a need for the Bel...

Re: Mark VII DIY Gear Rack Shield
I finished up the gear rack shield today. It is now supported at the top, and the bottom. It hugs the gear rack, but does not make contact with it. I used one of the motor pan's screws to secure the bottom, and I drilled two holes in the headstock for screws/nuts to secure the top. The screws will b...

Re: Control sheave oil hole
No one responded to this over the weekend, so I gave Shopsmith a call this morning. They said the oil hole placement doesn't matter. It seems to me that it would work better right above the key, but as long as it works I don't care!
