Jointer fence and guard interchange

I recently acquired a Model 4E jointer for my 10E. It is lacking the fence assembly and the blade guard assembly.
Does anyone know if those parts from a Model 620 jointer from a "Greenie" will fit the 4E?

Re: Another source for variable speed

I just found this thread, and it intrigued me. Are you still using this motor, and if so, how is it working?

Re: Double tilt 10ER?

Sounds like a great idea, but... 1. You would need to figure out a way to easily remove the pins from the pivot on the end opposite the base you're tilting on to. 2. You would need to replace the trunnion under the table with something that would be out of the way of the spindle. Tilt the saw table ...

Re: Removing Sand Paper from Disc Sander

I have just the opposite problem. Shopsmith offered a real good sale on sand paper (disks and belts) a long while back. Being frugal as I am, I bought up a bunch which has now turned out to have not been frugal at all. I have a shelf full of adhesive backed sanding disks with adhesive that is no lo...

Re: original 10er vs revised 10er

Keep both, for all the reasons stated. I'm looking for a third on so I can leave the table mounted and true while mounting the dedicated 10ER lathe at a more convenient height for turning which is too high for saw, sander, & horizontal drill. My 10E is dedicated drill press.

Welcome to the addictive world of Shopsmith. You'll find this a friendly and helpful place, but beware, "they" always want pictures (I like them too.) In addition to all the great resources shared above, there is also a Yahoo Group dedicated to 10E/ER here: https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/gro...

Re: 10er Dedicated Lathe Thread

Thanks for your post, Doug. I like the mallets...(edited) I noticed in one of your photos, you have a wrench hanging on the headstock clamp down. Does that help remove any vibration out of the headstock to tube on the opposite side? No, the wrench is because the lock lever was cut off - shortened -...
