Quill return spring

Just recently tore down the headstock on my 1955 Mark V. Every thing inside looks pretty good but I can't figure out how to reset the quill return spring. I'm sure someone has answered this before, but I could sure use some help getting this squared away. I pretty much have every thing else figured ...

Need motor advice

I recently picked up a Mk 5 500 that is in need of a motor. Can a motor from sources other than SS be adapted to this application? The SS motors are just simply to expensive at this point in time for a $30 machine. Thanks for any help.

Re: New 10er's

Guess I've caught the disease. I just rescued another machine. Not a 10er this time but a freebie. No motor but hey, it only cost me $30. Will get it squared away and get some pics out.

New 10er's

Hey guys,
I got extremely lucky. Two different people in two different towns actually gave me a 10er each if I came after them. My son and I made a weekend out of it and came home with both of them. Both are in pretty fair shape, one with a motor that has wiring trouble and the other without. Both ...

Re: Problem overhead routing

Probably should have been more clear. Depth of cut was my biggest problem rather than being straight. Sorry for my poor choice of terms. Unfortunately, unable to post any pictures at this time. Look forward to any more insight.

Problem overhead routing

I got my first shopsmith a couple of months ago. I love it. Just joined this group and have a question. I have a model 510. I was trying to cut some dados and had trouble keeping them straight and keeping the quill from slipping. This is probably due to my technique, but was wondering if anyone has ...
