Just to give the final update. I installed new bearings using a 1/2 pipe nipple and a small ball-peen hammer. All is ok. The shaft and coupler on the jointer no longer get hot.

Hi all,

This old jointer has straight tubes, which is why I ordered eccentric tubes for it so I will have some horizontal adjustment just like my band saw.

Thanks all for the quick response.
Just to be clear the jointer is a greenie(Magna model 620 sw/n:34094). i disassembled the jointer and removed some rust from the tables, knives, and head. I then waxed everything and honed and aligned the knives.
