It uses the same mounting system as the light, the mounting bracket mounts to the carraige. See installation instructions.

I have 2 shopsmiths. My 84 has the serial # on that plate. My 88 has a sticker, which is located below the plate...Joe

It's been hit/miss for me and I use Chrome. Notice that it says "not secure" in the web/url address bar when the website loads. Maybe that has something to do with it?
