Re: What affects getting a square crosscut with the miter gauge

And make sure knob tightened down. Just learned that a few minutes ago. Hand tight may not be enough. Hence the holes in the knob. Just right to add a little oomph with the Allen wrench. Usually use miter saw or radial overhead but tied up at the moment and thought what the heck. Piece a little long...

Re: OPR – My First Sled...

Ed, Thanks for the ideas. Just getting started using the machine, that was first Miter project with the clamps. Think that the vibration issues were the router itself and that might just be the nature of the beast. Certainly rattled the Stop off. By that I mean the threaded rod with the winged backu...

Re: DeltaCad Shoutout...

Exactly. I posted in the Beginning Woodworking thinking might be of interest to guys (and gals) just starting. But what made me think about it was a pencil sketch posting. That's usually the way I start but clean it up with DeltaCad. Then do an AsBuild at the end for the record and maybe a few notes...

Re: OPR – My First Sled...

Hi Ed. Appreciate any suggestions for sure. I think I might see what your idea is. A triangle piece in the middle and clamp from there? Your sketch sounds like a good idea. Thanks. Jeff

DeltaCad Shoutout...

... if you are in the market for a simple to use 2-D cad program you may want to give DeltaCad a try. And it won’t break the bank at $39.99. Although not refundable. While I think that DeltaCad’s home base is right down here in Seattle, I have no stock or interest in the company. Just a great little...

Re: OPR – My First Sled...

The OPR Sled. A bit long in the making but here it is. I am using it here to make a backed Miter joint. Maybe look at the last picture first to see where we are headed. Just getting a chance to use, but seems to work pretty good. The router vibration rattles the stops and set screws loose but once t...

Re: OPR – My First Sled...

Another operation for the Sled (and the OPR). What a machine. I can see lots of uses and that’s in a simple shop. Approaching the mortise a little differently than the Sawdust sessions with the fence to the front but lets the dust collector attachment work a little better. And lets me shim up the Sh...

Re: OPR – My First Sled...

Thanks guys. Think I saw your posting nuhobby for the idea and had a piece of melamine board about the right size. Clamps arrived today and the T-track too. Not sure how will attach to the aluminum fence. Not really thick enough to hold a thread and need smooth on bottom of fence. Did you have a tho...

OPR – My First Sled...

... constructed. Or under construction for the Overhead Pin Router. Went with rails vs. drilling the table per the Sawdust Session. Seems to work pretty good. Might make the rails into cleats to hold on to the table as almost slid off when moving (and parking) to the front. Using it to make Overlapp...

Re: Tricked-out overarm pin router

Kind of a minimalist idea here. I just added a pair of wheels at the back of the stand. The wheels just barely touch the floor until I lift the front of the stand to roll it out from the wall to use. I had the wheels and it seems to work pretty good so probably won’t upgrade. Thinking about doing so...
