I feel the saw blade properly belongs to the left of center of the table insert. That allows a little room for extending the quill slightly to make fine adjustments in the location of the saw blade.

Re: 3D SketchUp of the "Under-the-Mark V" Accessory Cabinet
Thank you Az, You nudged me into becoming acquainted with SketchUp. It is intended for 3D drawings but I used it here for 2D drafting. Top_Shelf_v2.pdf These are simple shapes but it worked better than I had expected. The automatic dimensioning works well and made it easy to line up and space out lo...

Re: 3D SketchUp of the "Under-the-Mark V" Accessory Cabinet
Following an upgrade to a 520 table system, I am rehabilitating my Under the Mark V Cabinet. It is going slowly but progressing none the less. I believe I have finally decided on how to reorganize the two main pull-out shelves. Here are the things that will live on the upper shelf: 20170413_154215.j...

Really good concepts. I especially like your holster for the upper guard.

Re: Shopsmith at Woodcraft
Dusty, I believe you have much to look forward to. My EF was down to 25% this last January, now back up to 43%. So clean living, the right medications, and a sensible activity level can work wonders. (In my case, it means very little salt on my food – yuck - but otherwise life is good.) I felt I sho...

Re: Sharpening guide
Re: the round swinging platform on the front side of the system, it is for a 1/2 inch round nose scraper. To use it you reverse the sharping system and position it on the side of the disc that is going down. Since I have a variety of scrapers in various widths I removed the swinging part and replace...

Re: Sharpening guide
Perhaps you have the same problem with skews that I had. The sharpening guide is designed for Shopsmith chisels and their skew is flat sided. Most of my skews have convex sides. A curved side rotates instead of staying flat on the guide making it very difficult (?impossible) to maintain a stable ang...
