Re: Power Pro headstock cooling

I have not been able to find authoritative answers for the following: 1. Is the PP cooling air intake filtered? 2. Are the PP electronics all shielded from dust and contaminants? 3. What is the maximum operating temperature specified by OEM TeknaTool/StriaTech? 4. What are the SS PP operating temper...

Got me thinking... my 1976-vintage SS is now 42 years old. I DO expect it to hit 50!

Re: At Shopsmith in Dayton this week

Just to clarify and eliminate some continued parsing of my original post: I just had a couple of very broad points: (a) the original overall design (10E/10ER/Mark II/ V/VII/... et. al.) is museum-worthy and about 70 years old, and (b) the original Mark V (Mark V-500) table size looks better proporti...

Some of us could even argue that the original Mark V (500) was better proportioned and the the best mix of form and function than...

Re: 5/8" Arbor problem

Yikes! The description and photo showing the addition of spacer washers against the quill flange are about the most scary-dangerous situation I have seen in a while... The 5/8 inch quill shaft with the reverse-tapered flat holding a saw blade brings enough drama on its own -- and the washers comprom...

Re: Order Status

Ordered a replacement quill on Oct 11 2017. Still waiting and machine is still down. The newest blurb from SS now says April. I love these machines but having a machine down for seven months is getting old. Paul I have found Skip at https://www.mkctools.com/mark%20v%20parts.htm to be very responsiv...
