Re: Optimum Sled Size for Shopsmith
Another size opinion: 24" deep and 36" wide. Reasoning: depth is a standard 24" MDF board; width is a quarter inch less than my bandsaw table. That allows leaning against the bandsaw without sticking above and interfering with using it. So the width should be slightly lower than where...

Re: Show me your custom router table for the Shopsmith
Regarding your question on the 20 degree angle: the angle is determined by the hinge location plus the angle of the clamp when it is tight (the prior photo shows the clamp is at a slight angle). In the photo below with clamp out of the way, you can see the clamping bolt. The end-piece is notched on ...

My current cabinet with fence hangers front and rear (fence on back one), two large drawers, four small sliding shelves, and storage on top. Here, the table is in its lowest position and with a 14” cabinet there is only 1/4” table tube clearance on each side. Cabinet1.jpg Close-up of fence hanger an...

Re: 3D SketchUp of the "Under-the-Mark V" Accessory Cabinet
I am on my third iteration of a Shopsmith cabinet and learned several lessons. The top shelf must be 14” wide or less so the table tubes clear when lowered for sanding or boring. With overlaid doors, the shelf must be even narrower. My cabinet ends are now 16” wide and the top shelf is 14” with inse...
