Hey jzeke16 Be happy you have a speed changer, Its a very useful parts option on a 10er ...and most didn't come with it. I've seen quite a few with broken castings, Only change speeds with the motor running. And put a drop of oil on that center sheeve at each use. There is also a useful tip on chips...

I bought my belts at a lawn mower parts house, local to me
Its been a long time so I've lost track of the actual label from the belt
but IIRC. they were AA section "mower deck belts".
been working fine for about 2yrs now.

I briefly checked the manual for reference to the two holes and came up empty. However, I believe I can tell you what the holes are for. They are axillary to the trunnion lock. I just aquired a beltsander (used) and it has some damage from the PO's father...apparently he overtightened the the bolt in the first hole in the trunion, and collapsed the casting. The verticle/horizontal action seems to be unaffected. and after much cleaning and adjustment, everything seems to be...
