Re: Mark VII side table fix

Mine seems to work fine. Yes the rail is short but my rip fence clamp locks onto the chamfer on the bottom of the rail. I haven't got a dial indicator out but rips square and true enough for me.

Re: GFCI protected circuits

We had an apartment 4 plex where we replaced the 110v outlet in the laundry room w/ GFI to get it up to code(replaced w/a midpriced Menards GFI; not the cheapest one). The washer continually tripped the GFI. Replaced w/ another;I think the same price range; still tripped. Called in an electrician. H...

The good news is that a SS 10 (10E,10ER) are the easiest SS's to convert. Don't know much about the lifestyle treadmill. Yuo have to open it u...

Re: Talk me into or out of buying this Mark VII

I think $550. is a fair price for a restored one. Looks like it's been restored(new paint, some new bearings, looks like a new 3D printed plastic rack on the tie bar). Here is a link to another thread where I posted pros and cons of a mk VII as I see them. https://forum.shopsmith.com/viewtopic.php?p...

"Both 'answers' still beg the question 'why'(does it matter)."

For me the act. speed isn't that important. It's learning, experimenting and playing with the Arduino.

I agree totally with JPG. Keep in mind .007" is approx. the thickness of 3 human hairs.

Re: Can you make your own motor speed controller? Perhaps

rpd is correct. The SS digital conversion facebook group is where I got most of my info from. Make sure you check the "files" tab. That's where the documentation is on how to do it. If you don't want to join the FB group I can post my doc files. If you just want to add a DC motor to the ba...
