Is the set screw covered by some kind of putty/filler right where the flat spot is on the output shaft? I see some kind of filling on the quill set screw and some others so I am just guessing it's the same.

Sorry in advance for not completely knowing the part names... New to a lot of this. I noticed there's about an eight of an inch of play between the silver collar and the motor output shaft and the quill. When I start up the motor, the blade likes to kick out to the end play and when measuring it ...
