MARK 5 PARTS

Does anyone besides Shopsmith make parts for the Mark 5, 7, etc? I have been waiting over a month for a control sheave assy and honestly, I think that's pretty unreasonable. My machine is pretty useless without it! I see many of you have waited even longer. I do know that there are some private guys ...

Re: Which ShopSmith model do you use in your shop

I have a Mark V that I inherited from my Dad. He bought it new in '85. It's in beautiful condition, no rust. I just scratch my head every time I see someone selling one and it's filthy and the tubes rusted up. Now if only our good friends at SS would send me the parts I need. :<(

Re: Rikon tools, anyone have experence with them?

I have a Craftsman 14" band saw. It's a great bandsaw and it's a Rikon. I frequently use it to mill lumber up to it's capacity.

Re: Nova G3 Chuck - Black Friday deal?

:) I just bought a NOVA G3 with 2" jaws and the Shopsmith adapter from an Ebay vendor for $114. Brand new. Now if only Shopsmith would send me the freakin' parts I need!

Re: New markV owner

Agreed. I have made several things using pallet wood. Also, be VERY careful about getting all the nails out and watch for unseen ones too! :)

Re: I am out of patience!

ME TOO. I'm so pissed! I ordered the control sheave assy for my Mark 5 on 12/24 and all I get from Shopsmith is a bunch of crappola!! Obviously I'm dead in the water without this part. How is a reputable company so 'out of stock, should ship in a few days'? BS

Re: Shopsmith mark 5, has begun to make a terrible noise interna

I'm new to this site but I have an '85 mark 5. Using the lathe and she started much the same thing but the source sounded like 'up higher '. I found a ball bearing and probably the dust cover from a bearing, probably an upper quill bearing. She's coming apart this weekend, I'll report what I find.
