While looking at the pic showing the adjustable collar I saw what looks like a crafted mental piece held in place by two wing nuts.
Is that something you have created to help control dust or is it something S/S sells I don't know about?

Thanks for the response.
I'll try your idea since I don't like the results I'm getting using the S/S way. I find it to be inaccurate ( or maybe difficult to get a final adjustment) would be more succinct.

Has anyone created a better way of setting the blade 90 degrees to the saw table than the one described on B-26 and B-27 of the S/S manual? I have a 510 which was new in 1998 and converted to a 520 later. I find the old S/S explanation in the manual cumbersome and not too reliable. BTW I have found ...
I'm going to research this issue and post a report after I find an answer worth posting.
I do know over heating is sometimes an issue with all electrical motors.
