Re: Adding vacuum hose to upper saw blade cover
I owned a Shark Guard and had it set up on a cabinet saw. I used an Oneida Dust Cobra, attached to the 2.5" diameter port on the SG. Dust collection was impressive most of the time, with the exception being when a narrow strip close the edge was ripped and there was a gap between the bottom of ...

WOW, I wish I were closer to this listing, midway between Pittsburgh and Wheeling WVa. $100, and that includes a PC router......

Re: Wagner Safe-T-Planer, StewMac Safe-T-Planer & Medallion Rotary Planer video
Hello Scott I watched your video and these tools are interesting. The cost is reasonable enough that I could imagine buying one to have just in case it is useful on a yet-to-be-started project. The cutting action of this Safe-T-Planer reminds me of the old Rockwell/Delta Uniplane I used to own. Do y...

Re: 10ER almost done
WOW ! Mike you really raised the standard with this one! It looks fantastic.
I'm currently disassembling a 10E and a 10ER for refurbishment/restorations, and if I end up with half of the results you have I will be happy.

Re: 10ER headstock pulley removal
Russ, thanks for that part number at SS. I just checked and that's a good option to have in case this one I have ends up being unusable.

Re: 10ER headstock pulley removal
I found this video and see this is basically what I have done before (albeit long, long ago with my Grandfather, in his shop :) ) By 'weak' I did mean insufficient tension on the spring. I described it as sloppy because the quill operation seems loose, not tight enough. But now that I have seen the ...

Re: 10ER headstock pulley removal
I was able to get the pulley off, so thanks to each of you for your advice. The description by John about the drive sleeve and the splined portion of the quill was good, but until I was able to see it in person it was hard to imagine how this works. Next project is learning what to do about the quil...

Re: 10ER headstock pulley removal
John, thanks for the link to Skip's website. I might order his pulley once I remove this (what I assume is the) original pulley. Wow, he has some nice stuff listed for sale.

Re: 10ER headstock pulley removal
Russ, thanks for your post. I will look for the type of puller you have shown. I am familiar with the type that Steve posted but not this one in your post. I have another 10ER that awaits, so a gear puller set will get more than one use. My 10ER does have two set screws holding this pulley on to the...

Re: 10ER headstock pulley removal
Thanks Steve and John, The last picture in John's post makes it clear what I am seeing in the center of the pulley-the shaft has that six-sided star pattern. I'll buy a gear puller and start soaking the assembly with some oil. I'm guessing that this pulley on the headstock is the original. The pulle...
