I have a mark 510 ,when I try to do a bigger or deeper bowl ( more then 10" wide or deep) tthe 8" arm will not reach into the bowl . Shopsmith does not appear to have an extenction to add to lathe arm. Ideas or ? Just make one myself? Thanks

Found the bearing and loop on ebay, so you think it would be harder to install that then replace the control sheave?

Hi again just check my mark 5 and it is broken off the loop to the bearing , do you know how to replace it? is it pressed in? how to get the old one out? thanks

Thanks for the reply. I've looked in and have pixs . It looks like the bottom sheave has the belt on the outer side of the sheave, the upper one open so the belt on longer touch it. also the speed control arm has a gap between it and the shaft upper sheave

yes so what can I do to close the upper sheave? or stop or adjust so it does not open so much at the higher speeds? Your problem is not the upper sheave opening too much. It is the lower sheave not closing enough. It is called the control sheave because it is what is adjusted to control speed. The ...
