I am curious re the purpose of the bottom back protrusions. So they will hang on a hook??? The basic shape of the handle is called a “Derby” I think it has the most comfortable grip. Very nice! How do you round the handles? Sanding disk, rasp, other? I use drum dumsander and rasps. I basicly shape with a inflatible durm sander I put on the SS using the drill chuck. Then finish shaping with acouple of hand stitched rasps. I have more controle with the rasp. and becouse they are ...

A line of Canes.

A busy month.. The three redish handles are Mahogany. Two have a walnut shanks and one is canarywood. The other is a Zebrawood handle on a paduak shank. Finished the Mahogany & Canarywood and the Zebrawood & Paduak canes.

Walnut Carving

Carved from a 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" x 8" cut off of a old walnut table leg. My wife calls it the Christmas lady.

No I got the pegs from Woodcraft.They were for a for a projet I did for a friend and had these left over. I have a couple of walnut pegs I found in a box in the shop. I am going to put a small detail carving blade in one and give it a try.

Eagle Head

Carved this from Mahogany. I used a redish mahogany stain to highlight the head. Finished with a satin spar urethane.
I know the iris of the Eagle does not look forward like a human eye but I thought it gave it a more aggressive look. And it was done for a military family.
