Just watched the video again. So, the quill return assembly shaft he has in the vise is different from mine; didn't realize the difference between the 10E/10ER and the 5. My quill return assembly shaft does look different so, yes, I see what you are indicating.

Looks like I need to do the opposite ...

Thanks JPG. Apprecate the 'heads up'. I think that's what Mr Heward was probably referring to in his video; guess he was just saying it a different way when indicating 'backwards'.

I will take pictures and post them later.

Thanks JPG... I will be working on it tomorrow so will see if indeed the spring can really be installed 'backwards' or 'incorrectly'. Watch the video by Michael Heward mentioned in my post as that is who mentions the 'correct' way to install the spring.
