Re: Possible Solution to RPS 0 error

Good question about dust collection. Yes, I use dust collection. In fact, because much of what I do, requires me to go between table saw, jointer and planer (on its own power stand), I have a system with blast gates at each tool. The blast gates are wired with micro switches that turn on the dust co...

Re: How to Resolve a RPS State Error 0

That is the email address they give while waiting on hold for customer support to answer. And I have been given that address in the past when talking to someone at SS. I have posted a new thread that outlines the steps in resolving the problem, so someone else doesn't have to spend hours on the phon...

Possible Solution to RPS 0 error

After dealing with my rps 0 this past week, I learned a lot, and have a possible solution for everyone dealing this this issue. As you know, there are optical sensors on a small circuit board under the fan on the rear of the motor. As dust accumulates on these sensors, it finally gets thick enough t...

Re: How to Resolve a RPS State Error 0

Yes and Yes. The email address they provide for tech support is catreq@shopsmith.com. My emails have always gone unanswered. Since Customer Care doesn't answer, it's kinda hard to schedule an appointment. But fortunately, thanks to scanning online postings, I knew what to look for and finally solved...

Re: How to Resolve a RPS State Error 0

I'm working to resolve rps 0. I appreciate the informative and helpful posts. I was wondering how to reach someone at Shopsmith. They don't answer the phone, nor do they return phone call messages, and I have yet to ever receive a response to an email sent to the tech support email address. The last...

Re: PowerPro Idler Shaft Bearing Knock

OK. I finally got around to pull out my drive sleeve assembly. One bearing was bad. i took the assembly to a local shop, and they replaced the bad bearing for me. (In and out the same day.) After reassembly, all is good.

Thanks to all who offered suggestions.

Re: PowerPro Idler Shaft Bearing Knock

I'm not sure what you are referring to. Is there a set screw on the drive sleeve? Would i have to remove that sleeve to see the set screw?

Thanks

Re: PowerPro Idler Shaft Bearing Knock

Thank you for your suggestions. With the help of a mechanic friend, we did the "stethoscope" method of isolating where the bearing knock is coming from. We found the noise was coming from the main drive shaft. I will attempt to post a picture showing the exact location. And also a short vi...
