Re: What can you safely do sitting down? (on a shop stool)

I definitely use a stool to sit on sometimes when I do woodturning on my Mark V. Depends on how long of a session it is and how I am feeling...

Re: Storage Cabinet System

So, I cut the drawer liner scraps into 5/16" x 7/16" pieces. These pieces fit flush with the edge of the handle. But they have enough flex to stay in place. So far they seem to be working out. Sounds like a great solution to me. The original ones in mine aren't that attractive, but functi...

Re: JessEm's Pow-R-Tek SR Router - ER20 collets and "special" cooling

So those black perforated circle at the bottom of the router are air inlets? Or an inlet and an outlet? The PowerPro motor appears to draw air through the motor by a centrifugal fan but I haven't looked carefully at it enough to say that's all there is to it. I wonder if there's enough space betwee...

Re: JessEm's Pow-R-Tek SR Router - ER20 collets and "special" cooling

That's quite the tool for the person that needs a lot of run time and more precise speed control. It's starting to bridge the gap between a woodworking router and a CNC spindle. I'm now tracking two woodworking routers with ER collets, this and the SpinRite from Woodpeckers, which I bought ~last ye...

Re: JessEm's Pow-R-Tek SR Router - ER20 collets and "special" cooling

That's a no-go for me. I don't have a dedicated table router, so I don't want to disable the soft start or internal power control. And when I get a dedicated table router it will likely be rated more than 2.5 HP (Whatever it is that this rating means!). This seems targeted, and more suited, to the ...

Re: Voltage Question - NOT Shopsmith

I thought the Soviet Union (Союз Советских Социалистических Республик) dissolved in 1991 .... (ducks) Guess it depends on where you get your news from...in the East it never dissolved (or at least that is what a certain tyrant would have you believe). Never mind that war that is going on! ;) In all...

Re: JessEm's Pow-R-Tek SR Router - ER20 collets and "special" cooling

It is pretty intriguing. I like the ER20 approach. Also like that you set RPM in RPM instead of 1 thru 10 or whatever. Makes me wonder if it has RPM feedback and manages RPM in real time like PowerPro and not like any router I have used. I use a Bosch now and it seems to have some degree of speed r...

JessEm's Pow-R-Tek SR Router - ER20 collets and "special" cooling

Guess I should have waited on my router purchase last year. JessEm just announced a new router package they are selling that looks intriguing. Posting in case anyone is in the market for a big beefy router for their dedicated router table. It is a 3.25HP router at 4.2" diameter. Supposedly they...

Re: Voltage Question - NOT Shopsmith

"The proper charger can't cost all that much." Garmin wants $30 (plus tax and shipping). About half that for other stuff from CCCP on Amazon. [/color] Do you know the specs of the Garmin charger? IF so, you could try to match a similar off-brand one to it. However, be careful of the "...

Re: Today in the shop "Take two on door trim"

Ed, Looks like you built your own Domino dock. Too late now, but just as an fyi Ramon Valdez is fairly well known in the Festool community for the Domino dock that he designed and sold. Seneca Woodworking now sells his product, but I bought mine directly from Ramon. It was cheaper when I bought it d...
