Hi folks, I’m a new owner of a SS Bandsaw. It came with 2 general purpose blades, I believe about 3/8”. I was curious about what other blades I might need. I don’t plan to do much resawing but I will need metal cutting possibility. Should I get a hacksaw like 24 TPI?

My problem is the noise gets loud with the disk sander on it and it didn’t have that noise years ago. Should I attempt to record it and post here?

Thanks Russ and JPG. It’s a 1954 Mark V. I thought I’d asked this before.
I’ve removed the quill and the spindle moves fine. There is a bit of play when it’s in the proper position.

Yes it’s a Gilmer belt. Hate to pull it apart again. What about a newer 2 bearing quill that I’ve seen mentioned?

I’ve been having a problem with noises from my ‘54 Mark5 powerhead. I’ve fixed most of them but then another crops up. This one seems to come from the right side while the 12” disc sander is mounted. It’s loud, ‘gravelly” yet gets quieter when pressure is applied to the disc.
