Must be something to do with the wedge. I put one of the same washers from the other lock and quill still moves. Off to find a wedge now. I think.

Yes. I am missing part 1502. It's a 7/8 inch od, 1/4 id washer. I literally just got done searching the web. Closest thing i came to was a brass cupped washer with those exact measurements. Fingers crossed and see what happens. Now what I am worried about is i took a flat washer and put a bend in it ...

OK so i am confused. The wedge is there but it is not stopping the quill.
I think Ed is correct. There was no washers on the quill when i got it. I remember watching a video where they dismantled the quill to get to the return spring and remember vaguely the gentleman discussing the spring washers ...

No it's an er10. I'm going to include the photos here. I am new to this site and still trying to figure where everything's at. I'm wanting to find a chuck for this thing cause I would really love to use the lathe feature. It came with a drive and dead center.
