I haven't seen an extension made specifically for the MVII, and I'd like to know if one exists. I've modified the rail on mine to take the MV extension.

Re: old saw blades

... my recollection is that the MVII was a 10" at the get go. A feature was the 10" sanding disk used 'in the table'. (Just as the Mark V is set up for 12" disks, right?) Was this 10" sanding disc flat steel, or cast? JPG mentions a conical version as well. Does anyone have a us...

Re: old saw blades

Does a 10" saw blade actually fit in it on the correct SS 1-1/4" arbor and the same for the correct SS 5/8" arbor? I've tried 10" Magna blades with the Mark VII cast lower guard. They will clear the guard, but the guard doesn't work as well in picking up chips, with more of them...

Re: old saw blades

My sharpening service charges 5-10 bucks (depends on tooth count) to do a non-carbide blade. I keep the old 1-1/4"-arbor Magna non-carbide blades on hand for standard work, whether 9" or 10" in diameter, for their smaller kerf and correct fit to the V and VII systems.

The blade diameter is more about the guard than the arbor per se. The original VII guard won't take a 10" blade, at least not comfortably.

Re: Shorter Arbor

An idea that hasn't yet been explored in this thread is blade choice for the Mark VII. To use the original system (aluminum guard as pictured below, carriage lock aligning the blade to the table slots), you'll definitely prefer to use the original short arbors and 9" blades by Magna. Those blad...

Re: SS SPT Warranty card

If it's of interest to anyone, the serial number is 2913, and again it shipped (postmark) Nov. 1 '86.

SS SPT Warranty card

I found a lathe duplicator on Craigslist that has apparently never been assembled or even removed from its shipping box. Inside I found the original warranty return card. The box indicates that this was shipped on November 1, 1986. I've made a PDF of the card just because that's the sort of thing I ...

Re: Mark VII side table fix

The rail casting is wider than the stock rail; best case, the alignment screws both fall outside that length, so can't do anything useful; there's also no way to bridge to the main-table rail. No one else sees this as a problem?
