Mystery solved, all tools and such are in my possession- Drive spur, live center, chuck and chuck key were tucked in with the drill bits...should have looked a little deeper in that metal box...:)

wow-70 years old and still going strong...it does have the upgraded metal fence and table-a speed changer was what I had in mind, but now that I know the combos for the pulleys, it is not a pressing item. Going back to dad's house this weekend to conduct yard/tool sale...will continue to look for th...

congrats on your machine...I just inherited a Shopsmith S/N 2988(It was my Grandfather's so has now been in the family for 3 generations, but not sure on exact age). needs some replacement parts for the lathe(the live spur) and the drill press(the chuck) and I have no Idea where to begin..but otherw...
