My recommendation would be to use a wood glue.
1. It can be spread easily to cover the joint. Complete coverage is important for a good bond.
2. After assembly, excess glue can be cleaned up with a damp rag.

I am not a professional construction and/or woodworker. I needed to make cuts on 1' plywood for building a platform and I chose the DEWALT Bare-Tool DC330B over the circular saw because I anticipated having to make some wandering cuts.
