I use a propane torch to clear the windows of spiders and webs. I don't do much woodworking so I don't have the sawdust issue though. The torch is waved around the spider webs and they just smoke away.

Update to my SS
I found a serial number. It's 351979 and located on the headstock cover which I could not see since it is in the drill press position and the cover was help up by a clamp while I worked on replacing the drive belt. Built Nov/Dec 1957. I apologize --It's apparently a greenie after all.

I'm doing repairs to the SS I've had about 10 years and have hardly ever used. I'm finding some great differences in models and replacement parts. There is NO serial number on the head stock.
