(I ended up with 2 SS recently, one is a Greenie which is set up with a brand new carbide 60 tooth 5/8 I believe.) but in my box of goodies, If I can find the right arbor or reducer, this is ok to do? Do you all here use this practice or typically buy the high doller bladeds from SS?

Woodcraft Stores ?

All, I made a stop today for the first time at our Boise "Woodcraft" store. Wooww! That place is a man-version of a Toys R Us! I was bewildered by all the tools, accessories and wood they carried, even classes. Now I know what my wife fells like in a jewelry store. :D Drool drool drool. I ...

I seem to have trouble viewing "some" pics posted. This one appears as a red X and I've right clicked and tried "show picture" but no avail.
Some come through great.
Any help here?

More than one way to skin a rabbet

After looking over the Shopsmith Power Tool Woodworking book that I recently recieved with my new sawdust toy, I see for example where there is roughly a zillion different ways to cut a rabbet joint depending on what tools you've aquired and what set up mode you are in. Is there a chart that organiz...

Wife not happy with purchase

So here's the story. I recently bought a shopsmith on a whim from someone leaving town that day. The guy said it could be 20 years old. I knew nothing and had no time to research. I knew they were over three thousand new and I thought that $400 was burning a hole in my wallet. I bought it without ev...

Box miter joints

I am starting my first project on my recent purchase of a 1954 greenie. To use a 1x12 and make a 2' by 3' box basically to hang on the wall for a lightweight flatscreen to set on, I was going to use a box miter joint I believe. First would you nail and glue (going to paint black)? Is that strong eno...

Greenie

I have discovered after a purchase, I have a 288192 s# which makes my shop smith older than me. It is green and flaking. It runs, but I need a little info before I use it on oiling ect. It has the ancient onwers manual etched in a stone tablet. I hope I did not make a mistake. I had no idea it was t...
