Re: Why would a SM Mark 7 bog during operation?

Riddle solved folks. DLB called it. Got the SS out last night to tear it down and didn't even get past the lower hub. It was loose and could spin freely. Tightened it up and now I should be good to go. Thanks for all the good insight guys. Kevin

JPG wrote: Mon Apr 08, 2024 12:54 am I suggest thee stop chasing thy tail be comparing edges of different boards.

You need a known straight reference(straight edge or table surface) to critique each board edge.
Your wisdom is sound JPG. ;)

Re: Why would a SM Mark 7 bog during operation?

David,
According to the display on the power stock it read 3500rpm and had a number below it of 3495 that fluctuated some when I was looking at it. From 3500 to 3490ish. I didn't read it when I was feeding the material. I should have gotten a second person to look at it.

Re: Why would a SM Mark 7 bog during operation?

Yes JPG 3500 rpm. And this has never happened in the past... It would chew up whatever I feed it as fast as I feed it... This time I had to gauge my feed speed by the amount the joiner slowed or bogged down as I feed it into the joiner. Sounding liking I'm going to have to tear the head apart and ch...
