Gotta do it!
I have been a finisher long before I was a woodworker. Building projects, and then not learning finishing is like a soldier learning how to assemble is weapon flawlessly, and then have no idea of how to shoot it! Ya gotta learn! It is not at all hard to do, if you know what is involved. Most hated t...

Aligning talbe top/leaves/slides
I am doing a resto job on a 100 year old oak table, with a split pedestal. My problem is getting the two table halves to be in alignment when closed, and then to STAY aligned when fully open for leaves. The new slides are parrallel to each other, but when fully open, the leaves will be cocked about ...

Grips
If you want the old grips,(and I'd keep them if I were you), I'll strip them for ya. No charge, cept' postage. I can get them clean as new with our strip system at my shop. The beauty of my system, it won't ruin the original checkering, and gets ALL the crud out of the wood. Just an offer, should ya ...

Reception area
Why would anybody use clear maple, and then stain it brown? Anyway, we will begin finishing after the floor guys grind the concrete. We have to seal off everything with plastic, and then luan ply for protection. Will keep em coming till we are done. jimsjinx14668

Here is that missing panel we duplicated. The hole, or pass-through had to be eliminated. jimsjinx

Dust
About the best, most effective way for me is cross ventillating with a large fan. My dream system would be an intake wall, ( say 4'x4'), with filtration, and an exaust wall at the opposite end. The metal flapper type in/out vents would be lockable, and made of steel. Right now, I am fighting with du...

I have been working full time on a reception area at an old library. What a wierd old build! Solid maple and finished in the 70's with walnut stain! Butt ugly!! I had to strip all the old polyurethane off, and sand the crap out of the wood to get the blotchyness to a point where I can do something w...

Never too many power tools!
It is just a fact of life. You simply cannot have too many tools,no matter the actual NEED. I started my busness with a compressor, and a 10ER. Still have the ER, and use it all the time as a drill press, or disc sander. The miter guide fits my Delta 14" bandsaw, so that is a daily driver. Then...
