I wrapped mine in soft blankets and laid it down in my trailer bed. A few hold-down straps kept it from sliding around.

I bought a mint 1972 SS with a 1983 bandsaw all for 200 bucks. If you are patient there are some good deals. I found mine on Craigs list.

Thank you Dusty for that great info. I am a fairly new SS owner and was also wondering if my speeds were where they should be.

I'd be interested to see if these 5-8 dollar tachs do the job.
