Cleaning Parts

Just wanted to drop a quick tip for you folks trying to clean parts on your ShopSmith (or anything else small enough to fit into the tumbler container). I've found that using a Lortone tumbler/polisher with some stainless steel shot and some Simple Green Extreme REALLY does the job. I've used it to ...

In that case . . .

I think I'll leave the hub in place until I have a reason to remove it. Thanks for the follow-up, folks.

New User with an '82 vintage (I think) V Model 500

Hey folks. Just joined up a few days ago. I inherited my Dad's Shopsmith about 15 months ago and was thinking about selling it. I've decided instead to keep it and put it back to work in the shop. It was probably unused for the past 5 years or so. Perhaps occasionally but definitely not like it orig...

Simple Green Ultimate

I use Simple Green Ultimate to clean saw blades and router bits. It's formulated to clean without breaking down the material and was designed for cleaning aircraft. It is SUPER stuff. A bit expensive and you'll probably have to order it from Grainger or McMaster-Carr. It's also good for cleaning gun...
