PVC is surely an option too. I have an abundance of cardboard tubes available for me, so this is why I decides to go that route.

Will a CARDBOARD drum work on a homemade drumsander? Can a bicycle hub be used as a drumsander bearing? Today I will show you the drum and how I change the sandpaper.

Using my MK5 as a drumsander

I bought my Shopsmith Mark 5 for $150 a couple years ago and I was going to use it as a stand alone machine to basically build a homemade drumsander. I have since mounted my Porter Cable router into the tablesaw base and use it for a router table. The video I made is a tour of how I built these tool...
