Thanks, I did see that schedule earlier but didn't see anything there that indicated this was an in-store Lowe's schedule. Guess it is though. Not sure if I can / want to wait until next year. I'll work on sweetening up the Boss for awhile before I make my...I really need this, and we can get i...

Lowes Shopsmith Demo Schedule

I'm in Eastern North Carolina. Does anyone have any information about Shopsmith Demo's at NC Lowes? Heck, I'll even broaden it and say anywhere within my state? I have a 510 and am looking at the PP DIY Upgrade. It's more doable through Lowes because I don't have to upfront the total cost. I've sear...

The more I'm contemplating getting this, the more I think getting one of the PC dovetail setups may also be the way to go...Included templates also provide the box joint. Granted it's a whole different setup whereas you're using a router vice TS but...

Incra I-Box

Just curious, I received an email from SS for their new Incra I-Box for the SS. Does anyone have this yet?
I have the Incra 5000 for the SS and love it, saw this and it looks very nice, especially seeing as how they also have it on sale.

I've had the Incra 5000 setup on my 510 for a few years now and love it. Caught it while on sale. Yes, it is a bit cumbersome at times but that's overshadowed by the precision I get from this setup. Really well made and simple to use.

One thing I noticed on my 510 that drove me crazy until I found it, was the knurled thumb screws that secure table / extension tubes to the saw. A few weren't tight and they rattled. Tightened them up and buzz/rattle stopped.

One word....Termites.

Read in an article, (Don't remember who, when, or where), that mentioned using sawdust as a mulch, or as an additive in mulch is an attractant for termites. I haven't "tested" that statement, but one would think there's some validity to that statement.
Anyways....

Purchased my live center through Amazon but offered by PSI, and I love it and didn't pay half that amount. So...with getting a really reliable new one for say $20, why go through all the hassle of attempting to replace the bearing?

I agree with New Yankee being one of the best shows out there. As a matter of fact, when Norm first started New Yankee, he was using a Shopsmith. Soon afterwards, with the need for additional revenue, Delta stepped in and well, the rest is history, but fascinating non the less that he started out us...

New Yankee was the best. Still have several episodes recorded. I agree with the comments about Woodsmith Shop. I just can't get by the guy who combs his hair forward and down...Drives me nuts. Another show I enjoy is American Woodshop with Scott Phillips on PBS. He does really nice work. As far as m...
