Charlese,

Thanks for the instructions. I ran it a little last night and it was a little noisier than I expected. I hope to do some adjusting tonight to quiet it down.

OK. I removed the cover, loosened a big allen bolt, turned a slotted bushing(?), pulled the shaft out until it stopped at a small washer, went clockwise on the bushing and re-tightened the allen bolt. The shafts look to be in acceptable positions with relation to the belt cover holes.

I have been authorized to try the adjustment you mentioned. If it works then I won't have to ship it back. If not SS said they would replace it. I did not get the installation manual for the internal parts since it was new. I have an operators manual, and I have directions that Linda ...

The holes are for a safety shroud. They sent me a picture of it, but not the shroud itself.

I asked Linda twice (at SS) if she would like me to send pictures of this but she declined.

Unfortunately the vent plate hole is totally occupied by the splined hub that is attached to the shaft by the allen screw. To avoid shipping it back, SS wants me to try pulling the shaft out further, which might also help with the alignment of the upper drive assembly. My impression is that it was ...
