After ordering a new speed control assembly and speed control handle two weeks ago I still had not received notification of my order being processed and shipped. Finally called in today and asked for an update and was told it would probably be another 2 weeks until the parts were shipped. :( I was o...

Agreed, that is what I meant when I referenced them trying to survive in the bad economy of the last several years. While it is inconvenient to have to wait for basic parts at times, at least they are a company you can truly feel good about supporting. Shopsmith has been using what management calls ...

The idler shaft is in the headstock. I assume you mean the motor shaft. The fan sheave and the floating sheave are on the motor shaft. If it is gunked up, the floating sheave can be quite difficult to remove(for the same reason, it does not function well either). Soaking and gradual movement will e...

This will get you started. I am not sure he removes the fan sheave. http://www.shopsmithacademy.com/SS_Archives/SS122/SS122_Shopsmith_Reborn_Pt2.htm Be advised there are three different means of securing the spring to the end of the shaft. Beware the spring tension!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was following th...
