Biscuit Joiner booklet

I have the instruction booklet, however it is two sided and my scanner isn't. I cannot upload the documents successfully to this thread, however, I can send you an email with them attached. There will be two files, biscuit 1 and biscuit 2. 1 are the odd pages and 2 are the even pages. Since they are...

Testing sessions

Nick,

I would love to help out but some of us have to work from 3-4pm. While I am sure you don't like to work late, if you did a PM test session, some of us working folk would be glad to help out!

Scottss,

I would go with the 520 first as well. You will get much more use out of it than the OPR. I also agree with Ed on the planer. Run yours until it dies and buy the OPR instead of a new planer. I have a DeWalt 13" and use the fast speed only.

Opr

Scottss, I bought the OPR when it was on sale and now is the time to buy it during the upgrade sale at 25% off. It is well worth it and probably the best price you will get. I also have the lift assist (which is now 10% off). It makes using the OPR a piece of cake and I highly recommend you include ...

Removing old tires

I used a wire brush wheel on a grinder to get the old tires off and thought it worked very well.

Bandsaw adjustment

I had a similar problem but the blade wanted to walk off the wheels. I talked to Dave at Shopsmith and found out the upper wheel was misaligned, probably due to leaving the blade in tension when not in use. I took my bandsaw in and he grabbed the top wheel at the top with one hand and at the bottom ...

Urethane tires

I just put on a pair last week. I put them on about halfway around the wheel then used a couple of Irwin Quick Grip hand clamps to keep the tires from slipping off. I then was able to stretch them on the rest of the way without alot of effort. I just started at the clamps and stretched the tires ont...

Removing rust on the jointer

I had the same problem with a used one I purchased. I started with a very fine steel wool and WD-40. That took alot off but it was rather slow after knocking off the initial rust. I then bought naval jelly, applied it and let it sit a few minutes per the directions, then used fine steel wool. That w...

Another solution?

Woodworkers Supply sells J.E. MOSER'S® TRANSPARENT WATER BASED GRAIN FILLER. I have never tried it but I would think a transparent filler would work well.
