Thank you all!..

I think i will actually try 2 simultaneous solutions mentioned above. I will use some CYA Glue to keep it together, then run some heat shrink tubing around it to seal it. It is not near anything that a small outside diameter increase would even bother.

the piece is smooth on the inside, at both ends, so it is not "driving" anything. It may very well just be a "dust preventer" or "alignment assistant"....if anyone knows for sure, that would help me determine how I should proceed.

Hi All, My little round plastic drive assembly on my Gilmer drive unit (usually a $8-$10 part) broke, and Shopsmith no longer sells it.
