From all my experiences, I find that the older 3/4 HP motors are just as powerful as the 1 1/8 HP motors. Insuring that the alignments is right on helps for either motor. Tools are sharp and I don't need to use a lot of pressure. However, when I am gouging the inside near the outer edge of a bowl is where I get the wobble.

Bowl wobbles when turning

I have a Greenie that is in fairly good condition. However, when turning a bowl and use some pressure with the bowl gouge, I get a vibration and can see the outer edge of the bowl wobble. Is there a bearing in the quill assembly that needs replacing or is it the problem with a single bearing quill? ...

You're right but I tried and things just got worse to the only option is a new one.

I need a live center for the "greenie" tailstock. Do you have a source?

Greenie Capacitor needed

I have an older SM Greenie and I need a new capacitor. The old one has the markings 270 300 110 v ac type ek. Anybody know where I can get one?????
