Re: AA C and D batteroes

Posted this for those who don't want to spend $30-$40 on a C -D charger that is reliable and uses those C-D things seldom. I thought about those big Maglites but knew anyone who had those wouldn't do this. I had a AA charger (Amazon) which was worthless. Anyone have a recommendation for one that is ...

AA C and D batteroes

I still have a couple of things that use C and D batteries which are expensive and might be dead when I need them therefore, in usual SS and USMC manner I improvised. 4 pack of Cs = $2.50 each 4 pack of Ds = $ 2.50 each 18 pack of AAs = $1.00 each Based on Energizer store prices. I just insert the A...

Re: Bandsaw Alignment recommendations

"Adding the way tube setscrews to this after setting biggie and clamping it down(if accessible) would be a good thing so the 'twist' is not stressed." Maybe I don't understand this. IF this is done with the tubes raised, as in pic 3, which is easier to do, wouldn't all the 'twist' be remov...

Re: Bandsaw Alignment recommendations

Yep, removed the slight twist with that Allen biggie as thee said. So now I WILL adjust those two set screws. Clamping it down first was what I needed to know but didn't know to ask.

Bandsaw Alignment recommendations

Pictures should explain better than words. 1) unaligned, 2) aligned by adjusting that larger Allen screw under the left (facing the headstock) way tube. Question about 3). Headstock moves smoothly; should I "micro-adjust" setscrews beneath the way tubes or just set it back? Yeah, I know I'...

Re: Variance in Bandsaw Serial Number Table

I don't see this anywhere. Got this with Mark VII so it was made sometime between 1963-69 but nothing is in the tables.

Broken Clamp

This is not common with older clamps but just happened to this 40 year old. I know someone here has a simple fix.

Re: Cutting 1/2" acrylic on bandsaw

I haven't seen this posted so I'll add it. I've cut a lot of plexiglass (?), the easy-melt stuff and use a 7" blade installed backward and run it as slowly as it will go. Takes several passes, raising the table in tiny increments with each pass. It is time consuming but works. My experience is ...

Re: Free and question about selling

John, you answered only one of my questions. I've seen links to Craigslist "bargain available". Is that still permissible?
