You could use a tuff guard sealant instead of the glue. Saw it here - https://www.hod9.com/best-metal-roof-sealant/. Normally it's used for the roofs, but works extremely well for wood purposes which you have mentioned.

The metal rood does look good. A little bit of roughness brings in an element of natural looks to it.

Gluing is definitely not going to work for Mahogany. Once it's warped any attempts to straighten them out will only result in further fissures towards the center of those pieces.

Buying one should be better than creating one on your own. It's quick, doesn't require much technicalities and is durable. Since building a sauna isn't something very intricate, buying something off the shelf is better.
