New bandsaw setup

Last summer I picked up a brand-new never used (but fully assembled) 510 with unassembled bandsaw still in the box. I purchased it from an older gentleman who bought it in March 1999 who parked it in his garage and never so much as plugged it in. Anyway, after installing the bandsaw's table, I'm loo...

Re: What should be in a basic woodworking toolbox?

Buy a run down house to rehab that sits 15 miles from where you live... And that is 15 miles in any direction from any town that actually has stores and 35 miles to any big box stores. Spend 6 months rewiring, re-plumbing from scratch (including well pump). All floors, walls and ceilings... Keep op...

Re: Newb with SS questions - part 2 - SS as Table Saw

This summer we just purchased a brand-new (but first bought in 1999 by a local fellow), never-used 510 with bandsaw, lathe tools, blades, accessories and safety kit for $500 here in central Washington state. I understand prices vary considerably by region though.

Re: Ripping Thick Material (Butcherblock Countertop)

I would probably cut something big like that with my homemade track saw- worm drive skilsaw with a track made from 1/4 luan plywood and a metal straightedge screwed together, c-clamped in place and set the whole thing on the ground or my old folding work table, resting the wood I'm cutting on scrap ...

Re: Drill Bit Sharpening

I'll second you on the Drill Doctor! I've hand-sharpened drill bits the old-fashioned way on a pedestal grinder for years until a couple weeks ago I got my Drill Doctor at a garage sale. It is SO EASY to perfectly sharpen a bit to better than new condition!

Re: Introduction

Ok thanks! I didn't know I needed 4 of those tubes. I do have the two telescoping legs. I set up the table saw for the first time today and cut a couple boards for mounting a mailbox to a post. I definitely need to clean and wax all the chrome tubes and spend a little time aligning things and gettin...

Re: Introduction

Hello, We are new to this forum. We just got a 510 at a garage sale this past weekend. It was built in March of 1999, but has NEVER been used! The power cord is still rolled up as it came from the factory, the bandsaw was still factory-sealed in its box, and almost all the parts and documentation is...
