Re: 500 Lower saw guard with sanding disk?

Steve, from another post mentioned he got a 3d printed lower guard that will take up to 12" sanding disks from someone on the Shopsmith Facebook site. I cant link you that as I don't have a Facebook, but I am going to post his reply below. The pictures don't appear to copy from post to post, so...

Re: Shorter Arbor

Mike, The Sawdust Chute/Lower Blade Guard P/N 505705 for the Mark VII that Steve is talking about is the same one I showed a picture of (on it's box) in my previous post. Since it is not the one you have there is no worries about using 10" Saw Blades. The 505628 Lower Saw Blade Guard you have ...

Re: Shaper/Sander Fence Bolts

Mike, Back in November I started a thread about SPT mounting posts. In it is probably everything and more that you ever wanted to know about the subject. The link is below. https://forum.shopsmith.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=24292 In buying a used Belt Sander the most important considerations, at ...

Re: Shaper/Sander Fence Bolts

I would just get some 5/16" bolts. We ARE talking about a MVII table? Yes, it is an MVII table we are talking about Offset tubes are a thingie that SS Inc. decided was a good thing to do. IMO unnecessary, but they do make aligning easier. Problem is the eccentric. The MVII eccentric has a grea...

Re: Shaper/Sander Fence Bolts

Not sure(do not have a clue) where those bolts in in the pix are today. Obviously I did not consider them critical. However 3/8" bolts fit through the holes in my MVII table. Well, I do have a 3/8" drill bit. Should be an easy fix. I should probably start a new post, but I know you have a...

Shaper/Sander Fence Bolts

Hi, anyone recognize if the below pictured bolt looks OEM for a Mark VII shaper fence? I just received my shaper fence today and the bolts that mount it to the table don't fit in the holes I already have drilled in the table. I wasn't expecting that. I'm wondering if I should buy new bolts that do f...

Re: Shorter Arbor

Sorry I didn't have a picture of the Lower Blade Guard on a Mark to show its spacing. Having it on my Model 10ER is like comparing apples to oranges. No problem at all. I learned what I needed to know, and appreciate your help. Funny coincidence, you are located near Portland Oregon, and I am locat...

Re: Shorter Arbor

If you checked out the link br549 provided in a previous post you should have found two PDF's in my post. Yes, I have those pdf's, but will reference the pictures in this thread in the future. With the spacing of the quill/spindle differences of the Model 10ER and the Mark VII you may still need th...

Re: Shorter Arbor

You are correct about the 5/8" arbor part number for a Mark 5/V/500 ... it is 555321. Sorry for adding to the confusion. No worries at all. I knew what you meant and really appreciate the help. And yes, there are new arbors on ebay from a third party supplier that cost more than from Shopsmith...
