What is this wooden object?

Can anyone help identify this wooden object? We found it in the parking lot of our church this morning. The church is on a busy road and people often turn around in the parking lot so I'm guessing it fell off someone's truck. It is a solid cylinder made up of rounds disks nailed together with finish...

Re: Scroll Saw

The $11.99 gray scroll saw reference packet from the MS contains the owners manual and parts listing.

I don't know if this covers your model/year or not. It says for 555220 and 555272.

Re: Horizontal Sawing

Thanks, rpd. I like his rolling infeed table. I'm also envious of his shop floor. Nicer than many people's kitchens.

Re: Horizontal Sawing

Jmolten, If my Greenie was the best tool I had for the job, I would do it in a heartbeat without thinking twice. I know everyone else has said that they wouldn't. I don't believe anything is inherently safe or unsafe. There is a continuum of risk. You identify the risk, assess the likelihood of occu...

Re: Jigsaw Oil

I made my Magna Jigsaw gasket 3-4 years ago and it hasn't leaked a drop. I honestly don't remember if I used a roll of cork gasket material or a Frosted Mini Wheats box. I have used both for various gaskets over the years and they both work great if you properly prepare and clean the mating surfaces.

Re: MK V Model 500 Table Weight

ERLover, I weighed them on our digital bathroom scale. It displays tenths of a pound, but only ever gives a result that is an even number in the tenths place so I think the precision is really one fifth of a pound. And fortunately my wife did not see me carrying the scale out to the garage. :)

Re: MK V Model 500 Table Weight

Here are the weights I could measure quickly this evening. Included are some that you didn't ask for, but I figured I would include them since they were there and somebody might want to know down the road. Greenie main table #1 (forged and milled rail and table saw insert): 15.2 lbs https://c2.stati...

For what it's worth, here's a link to my thread on reversing my A. O. Smith motor. The schematic I used is shown in post #1, along with a picture mapping points in the schematic to points in the picture of the motor. Let me know if you have any questions. http://www.shopsmith.net/forums/showthread.h...

Yes. Transfer punches are one of the preferred disassembly tools.
