Each photo has a view count associated with it. I just looked at the first photo in the blog. Oops, I just looked at the first photo and the views are more like 11,000 :)

Re: Power Pro Slows Down During Lathe Operation

That is exactly the correct answer. That's how you adjust the motor to either tighten or loosen the tension on the drive belt.

Re: Opening up the Power Pro head

When I called last March or April, I was told to send in the parts and that they would send them to the manufacturer for repairs. This was accomplished as promised. Yes, SS does not perform the repairs themselves, but that doesn't mean they won't receive and forward the parts to the repair facility....

Re: Power Pro Slows Down During Lathe Operation

Sounds like the belt might be slipping. The motor can be adjusted up and down to tighten or loosen the belt. Or dust might be on the speed sensor.

Re: Opening up the Power Pro head

I sent in my Power Supply and Display only and SS sent them out to the supplier to be tested and/or repaired. I received both back after a couple of weeks and reinstalled them along with the motor back into my backup headstock. It now runs and the display works again. SS didn't inform me exactly wha...

Re: Simple poll for PowerPro owners

Just curious if anyone knows whether you can order a replacement control module or the electronics module for the PowerPro? I did a quick search on Shopsmith's website but could not find any part numbers for them. If someone wanted to buy backup modules (just in case) to have around, is it possible...

Re: Simple poll for PowerPro owners

So far 100% in favor of ownership (including me). It has its problems, is probably less long term reliable as a Mark or 10Ex, but every time I use mine (which is almost every project), I am glad I have it. I like it's features, power, and control. Ask me again in 5 years LOL I don't have to wait 5 ...

Re: Powerpro Competitor

Looks like the control board is outside the motor case, away from the heat of the motor. Any one that knows electronics knows heat is a killer for electronics. Also the speed control looks like a simple pot easily replaceable by owner. Also requires less electronics to operate. Be interesting to se...

Re: 2010 Power Pro good purchase?

I did a self install of the Power Pro in 2010 as well and have turned over 100 bowls since. It quit working in 2016, so I installed my backup head stock, which I had modified to run in reverse. I finally got around to sending in the power supply/controller and display unit for repairs in May of this...
