Oiling 3/4 HP motor

Is there a location to oil the shaft on the 3/4 hp motor?
If so, I can't find it.
I have removed the nut and te sprint and the 1/2 sheave from the shaft and I still can't find any kind of hole to oil the shaft.

This is unfortunate, because I can hear the metal grinding as the shaft turns.

The instructions that came with my chainsaw say to cut a wedgelower first on the side you want it to fall to.
Then finish the cut from the other side. This creates a hinge that should guide the tree down in the direction you want it to fall.

Mystery Solved.

It looks like my corporate network has started blocking the shopsmith website for some dumb reason.

People can still access ESPN, etc though.....

Either that, or shopsmith has started blocking connections from my corporate network for some reason.

I am certainly no sage, but I do have a gilmer belt.

I would not think that the problem I'm having right now (wearing of the side of the belt on the headstock housing) is an issue for a V-belt.
it is annoying and apparently I have to do some modifications to get this to stop happening.

Serial Number

My shopsmith is a Mark V. My serial number is 262287 .
It says "Magna Engineering Corp."

This does not seem to fit into the listing of serial numbers though. It is before the 1954 serial numbers start.

obviously the wires must be the right size.
You can still trip the main breaker in your house without trooping any others.
As for moisture, it does create some, but around here if it is cold enough to fire it up, it is usually pretty dry anyway.

Thanks. Is there a procedure for adjusting that position?

I only have those two on there because that is the easiest place to store them so they don't get lost/damaged. I haven't actually used the saw yet.

As for the rebuilding speed control.
Yeah, I saw about that in my other post, where that is actually the main topic. Thank you though.
